THE TOWN

It will take approximately 25 minutes to reach Anghiari from the Villa.

Located in Tuscany Anghiari is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy "It is a medieval treasure".  The village is enclosed in massive 13th century walls and preserves the ancient and original atmosphere of a small medieval town.  The narrow streets and stone houses all have small windows, wooden shutters and doors.  The entrances and balconies of the houses are often decorated with flowers making this a beautiful and charming place to visit.

What to do in Anghiari?  There are several excellent restaurants in Anghiari and the town square has a few bars with lovely terraces on which to have a drink.  Every Wednesday night in the summer there is a large market in the square selling homemade jewellry, clothes, ceramics etc.

Italians and tourists visit Anghiari to visit "Busatti".  "Busatti" is a factory weaving wonderful linens with a beautiful shop selling all sorts of items for the kitchen, bedroom, table etc.  There are "Busatti" outlets all over Italy and they receive orders from all over the world including Royalty and Harrods in London.  You are able to tour the factory to see the looms in action and see the enormous steam loom which was brought by a horse drawn carriage from England in the 19th century
